Pianist and singer Champian Fulton, born in Oklahoma but now based in New York, is hailed as “a charming young steward of the established jazz tradition” (The New York Times), blending masterful piano playing with a voice reminiscent of Billie Holiday and Dinah Washington.

Together with Klas Lindquist on alto saxophone and clarinet, known for his “technical brilliance, imagination and style” (Göteborgs-Posten), this duo delivers a lively conversation around jazz standards. Their latest album, At Home (Turtle Bay Records, 2025), was recorded in an intimate living room setting and captures a relaxed chemistry with deep respect for that jazz tradition. Like the album, tonight’s performance promises to be filled with warmth and spontaneity.

This concert highlights the duo’s extraordinary synergy, forged through years of collaboration, including sold-out gigs at the Copenhagen Jazz Festival, New York City’s famed Birdland Jazz Club, and Stockholm’s Fasching. With Fulton’s piano and vocals that are both timeless and fresh, and Lindquist’s lyrical phrasing, they recreate classics like “The Very Thought of You” and “Tea for Two” alongside their own original compositions.
